I am thrilled to do this walk for Cancer. It is such a privilege to walk in memory and honor for my Aunt Jo, & both of my grandma's. These 3 family members were so special to me. There is not a day that goes by that I do not miss them and think of them. My grandma Gloria was the first member of my family that I lost to cancer. I think I was 9 when she passed away. But, I have such wonderful memories of her. Her smile was radiant! I learned sign language for her "I love you"...I remember standing at the end of her bed in the hospital signing to her! Then, cancer took the life of my wonderful Aunt Jo when I was about 22. I always take great joy with my memory, when she held Brandon for the first time when he was 3 months old. Next and I pray last, was my Grandma Lecesse. She was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. But, praise God...she beat it! Unfortunately, she passed away a few years ago. My fondest memories of her were how she screamed at my grandpa (you had to be there) and her terrific cooking! She was the BEST! She changed alot after my Aunt Jo passed away. Now that I am a mother...I completely understand. Her daughter was her BFF! They are dancing in heaven together! This walk means sooo much to me. I am blessed that I am healthy to do it. I am blessed to have known 3 wonderful ladies. I am blessed to do this walk with so many outstanding ladies that I love so much. I will continue to pray for my own health with the fight against cancer. The odds are against me. I get checked regularly...so far, I am healthy! =)
PS...I had to steal the cute image above from April! A special thank you for getting me involved! XOXO!
