Day 25: The reason you believe you’re still alive today.

His name is Dr Clarence. He was the best doctor a girl could ask for.
At the age of 20, I was ill for weeks. I was hallucinating, not eating, and other disgusting things I would rather not type. It was so bad, I forgot I had a son. =( After my mom spoke to me on the telephone, she told my dad to fly out from California and get me in Michigan. I remember the exhaustion of scooting on my behind down 15 stairs just to get to the front door. I had to stay in a wheel chair through the airport because I was so weak. My mom said, at first glance...I looked like I was dying of Aids. =( I hadn't brushed my hair in almost a week....you can imagine how many knots I had. They immediately took me to the ER where I stayed for a while. I had many Dr's look at me and test me for random illnesses. Then, Dr Clarence walked in and knew exactly what I had. It was a thyroid condition, graves disease (one of my eyes were popping out) and pneumonia. The pneumonia was so bad they had to drain fluid out of my lungs through my back with a foot long needle! Talk about frightening! He said I only had about 3 more days to live, if I hadn't come n. After that, I had to get radiation for the goiter that was the size of a golf ball which was sticking out of my throat. For three days, I was unable to come out of my room, use medal, touch anything that others touched...including my baby boy! It was terrible. The doctors told me that my eye would never go back to normal...but, with the grace of God...it did! I must take medication everyday & for the rest of my life...but that is a small price to pay. Without my parents, I would have died alone in my apartment. Without Dr Clarence, who chose to treat me for a year WITHOUT insurance or bill me...I am alive today.
